Back in Thailand, one last go round

We officially have 1 week of travels left!! We flew back to Thailand yesterday, because they have the big airport that will get us to Hong Kong (our last stop on the trip!) We have 2 full days before we fly out to Hong Kong. So since Bangkok was so hectic, crowded, and polluted last time we found a alternative destination to spend our time at. A little place called Kanchanaburi. We took the bus out here today for a mere $3.30/person.

After arriving at our little resort on the River Kwai we decided to head into town and check out the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Pretty neat to see plus they had some delicious coconut ice cream there. The guy shaves off the coconut then tops it with ice cream, nuts, and some other good stuff. You eat it right out of the coconut. Delicious!!!!

Sunday was spent exploring the local area. First, we went to the Erawan Waterfall which was about an hour away. It is a 7 step waterfall that is spread out over about a 1.5km hike. Really Really gorgeous. It was a pretty tough hike but well worth it. Even saw baby monkeys playing in the trees on our hike back.

After the waterfall we went to Hellfire Pass which was a spot on the Burma-Thai Death railroad that has a nice museum on the construction of the death railroad. After spending time at the museum we decided to ride the death railway back through the mountains and along the River Kwai to town. We will have some pictures of that shortly but it was gorgeous.

Anyways, this is probably our last post from Thailand anything we have an adventure on the trip back to Bangkok. Otherwise we will have a post from Hong Kong in a few days.
