Exciting Week in New York City

This last week in New York City has been quite an experience. Saturday evening we had an excellent last dinner in California with Josh and Stephanie at the House of Prime Rib after which we caught the overnight flight to New York City. At approximately 6:30am on July 25th our domicile officially changed to New York (an inside joke that you might get if you have recently studied for the bar exam, LA can't wait for those to end!!).

Our first day in NYC was spent with Doug spending his last day studying for the bar exam and Leigh Anne meeting with our real estate broker and taking a look at our first apartment at 109 West 82nd Street.

Tuesday and Wednseday were the real crazy days which were spent with Doug taking the New York bar exam and Leigh Anne running all over the Upper West Side with our agent Alison looking for our future home. Both activities were much more stressful than expected!!

After Leigh Anne's hard work the apartment search was narrowed down to two choices: one was the first apartment on West 82nd and the other was on West 69th Street and only about 100 yards from Central Park. It was a tough decision for us at first because of how much we loved the location of West 69th Street but we decided to go with the apartment on West 82nd. This was the very first apartment Leigh Anne saw. It is only a block in a half from Central Park, a block from the Natural History Museum, and on a beautiful tree lined street. There is also a wonderful rooftop terrace.

We couldn't be happier with our find!! We still have to be approved by the coop board but hopefully that should all take place in the next couple of weeks for us to move in on September 5th once we return from our travels.

With the bar exam and apartment search behind us we had an excellent last dinner at Perry St. in the West Village with a friend of Doug's who will also be starting at V&E in the fall and his wife.

Now off to London!!!!!!!!!!
